Choosing a race night provider

Your event is important to you so it is worth finding the right provider. Obviously we think Racenight UK is the best, after all we are the only ones ever to have done a race night at Windsor Castle but unfortunately we can't do every booking. To help you find the most suitable race night provider, we've written some questions you should ask before making a booking.

The basic essentials to look for from any provider are:

  1. Public Liability Insurance – probably best to avoid anyone who doesn't have this
  2. Anyone wanting a percentage of the takings instead of charging a fee – definitely avoid
  3. Are you actually getting them or are they just taking a booking and passing it on?

Then it’s a good idea to ask:

  1. What else do you do? Racenight UK only do racenights
  2. How long have you been doing them? We have been providing racenighte events for over 15 years
  3. Can you provide details of recent clients and venues? Not the places they may have hired films to but the ones they actually provided the show themselves

If yours is a large and/or prestige event, extra points should include:

  1. What is your largest audience? – 700 last year
  2. What size is your largest screen? – 12ft x 9ft
  3. Can you provide technical staff ?
  4. Can you provide multi-screen projection with multi-speaker sound, crew and tote staff if required?

Finally think about the price. With the preparation, travel, setting up and doing the show, most racenights are an 8 hour job. Allow something for the fuel, cost of equipment (if you were to go out and hire a reasonable projector, that would be £100 alone), tax and national insurance and ask yourself – would you do a days work for what they are charging?
